Wondering what different air pressures people are using? Dirt vs Sand.

Buggies just arrived one Revolt and one XL and the air pressures are ranging from 4.5lbs - 12lbs.

As a standard I go with 7 lbs and adjust from there. When I have my paddles on I take them up to 10 psi where I ride. Some of it is personal preference and the condition your riding. But I think 7 lbs is a good starting point.

In Oregon sand dunes we run 6-psi in the front and in the rear tires.

The first place we are going to go is Prairie City. State park with a dirt track for buggies, Quads, trucks etc. No sand some light jumps. Will 7lbs be sufficient with the jumps?

If you are not running beadlocks, you will want to put them up to 12 to 15 psi! Without beadlocks (IE: stock wheels), I have rolled them of the bead causing a rollover during a race. I have also dented wheels, etc, when not running them hard. I lose traction, but saves the wheels.

With beadlocks I am running 7 to 9 psi in my races. Has worked well for me thus far.

Sounds like I better start at 12lbs as I do have stock wheels. Dont want to end the first day short breaking the bead or damaging the wheels. Although it would give me a good reason to hurrry up and get the beadlocks.

I will lower the air pressure towards the end of the day and see what happens.

After bending a few stock wheels, I ran 15 psi. Now that I have the Maxxis Bighorns and OMF's I have them at 10 psi.
My Skat Trak's Extreems, I have at 12 psi. 26x12x12

Great to hear you got the buggies! Prairie City should be a good first ride. Run the air pressure a little higher with the stock wheels. You need to get the bead locks because the stock wheels will bend and you run the risk of breaking the bead and ruining the fun.
