When I had my old Pilot I had a steering damper on it, it still kicked the steering wheel hard in ruts. You can use steering quickener to give the 90 degree full lock turn. But you need power steering, to stop the kick back when you use a steering quickener. A steering quickener mounts in line with he steering shaft. Here is a link to a steering quickener:
COL 22370 Coleman Billet Steering Quickener, 2.0 to 1 Ratio Coleman Machine | Racing Parts | (636) 677-1320

In the pictures the blue part is a steering quickener and the black round part is power steering, this set up gives me 90 degree to full lock steering with no kick back. The buggy shown in the pictures is not a Redline, but shows how it can be done.
It sounds to me that you were running after market rims on the front with the wrong offset, I have a Honda Pilot and the only time kicked the steering was when I was running rims with the non stock offset.

This problem is very common on the Pilot NOBODY makes a after market rim with the EXACT same off set as the factory rims, the incorrect off set is just leverage working against you.

The difference between running the OEM rims and after market rims is like the difference between night and day...

The OMF wheels I bought, are very close. OMF can make them to match the oem wheel offsets.

No OMF cant match the OEM wheel they just get close then the Pilot ends up ripping the steering yoke out of your hands when you hit ruts.

You need to be very careful when changing rims on any machine a wider offset will upset the suspensions spring rate and shock valving, up front it upsets the suspension and steering, the extra leverage even if only 1/2" is not good it puts extra stress on everything and can greatly affect the steering and handling.

I like the quick steer, I have looked at doing that. Just need to see if I have room since I have the Larger fuel cell.

I have a first gen, we had to put a diverter in the radiator and re wire the fan so it wouldnt over heat, I had to fix the belt cover, other than that i put in heal stops, roll bar padding (to keep my legs from hitting the Aarm mount), vented the fuel cell (easier to add fuel), Teamtech belts, beadlocks, and custom exhaust.

after coming on here I want to do,

Tranny breather
ECU upgrade

Do you have any recommendations? also I only run it in the dunes.

I would recommend a tranny oil change for sure, to make sure you got the correct amount of gear oil.... and stronger rear links if you dont have some yet...

Im not really a dune fan,
but there a couple people in here with some really good mods.
theres a bunch of cool helpfull treads: from better air intakes, to motor mods & fuel programers....

lol, I took over the tread..... sorry guys...
- you should open up a new tread and share some pictures of your ride....
lets us know if you have any questions..... theres a bunch of cool people in here...

It looks good!
I would make a different transmission vent and change the gear lube. Synthetic lube is best. You say you rewired the fan? It should pull air through the radiator. You may want to look at the fan blades. Some of the 07's had the blade on backwards. Its a simple fix. If that doesn't do it, PM Red Rock for a 12" fan kit.
