Default race class rules

I am considering racing my revolt xl. looked into MWRA rules. there seems to be A LOT of mods needed to these buggys to be legal to race. All grade 8 bolts, no fuel cell in drivers compartment and design of factory fuel cell, etc.... Anyone have any insight as to what I am misinterpreting or is it that expensive to get race ready. My impression was these buggys were basically ready to race. No grade8 bolts in this buggy is really disappointing.

I'm not sure about the rules, but as far as race ready, no. It was designed as a High performance recreational car. But just like any other toy, if it moves, someone will race it. I've seen fork-lifts drag race at Rocky Mountain Raceway before!
I hope you weren't mislead, that a Revolt, was an out of the box racer. If thats what you were after, there are people here, to help.

The bolts are grade 5, a standard automotive grade. The bolts holding on the rear bearing carriers are grade 9.

no, I will not say I was intensionally misled. Probably my own fault. I will stay tuned to this thread to get some feedback about getting race ready and what is required. I use to race my old odessey dirt track oval (sprint car style) and they had rules but were a little forgiving with them. The rules from MWRA state class 9 you are allowed to race the razor S if it stays stock. I would appreciate as much feedback as possible from everyone. Thanks

I contacted MWRA and found that a stock Revolt is ready to race by their rules. Thanks for the info.

Here in Northern California VORRA will allow a stock Redline with the addition of window nets in the Pilot class. I have changed some of the grade five to grade eight but have not done the whole car yet. It is not required to run grade eight here.

To many rules and no one will show up to race.

Easy fix just move to Northern California and you wont have to modify your Redline.

UTVRA is the best source for multiple rule books in one place, but verify with your local org.

I know at Glen Helen in So cal the main rules or changes that we had to make was Get rid of the Y shoulder harness for 2 seperate harnesses, Window nets and then they let us race. After a few races they told me to put in a fuel cell, A fire wall, and then I added an extinguisher on my own. I also run a D-cell head and neck restraint, its not required but most major series require that or similar styles so why not be ready if Lucas Oil Off Road or TORCS decides to let us race with the UTV's

yes, Damon who used to work for Redline showed up at the First UTV Lucas Oil Race in Surprise Az and they wouldnt let him race. I never heard why. I guess I could ask the tech guys since I work for Lucas Oil Off Road Racing.
