Default Throttle Sticking

Has anyone had an issue where there throttle is sticking? It does fine when cold but I have noticed that after riding for a about 30 minutes the throttle will not retract all the way back, which is keeping my RPM around 2200. Then when you re-tap the peddle it will retract all the way. The gas peddle spring looks fine.

I've had the same problem on my Riot - twice. Look for these two things:

1. There's a rubber seal at the end of the throttle cable where it attaches to the throttle body. That seal (like a rubber cap) fell off, slid down the cable and was binding up the cable at the throttle body bell crank.

2. The butterflies in the throttle body were sticking in the throttle body bore. With the throttle cable off, open the throttle and let it "snap" closed. Does it stick when you try to open it by hand? If so, take off your throttle bodies, hold them up to a light and look through. You can see where the light shines between the butterflies and the throttle body bore and they will likely be off-centered causing a bind at closed throttle. On the Riot, I had to loosen the two screws holding the butterfly's and center one of them. I also used some fine sandpaper to true up the throttle body bore to match the butterflies.

I had the stuck throttle issue as well.
I put my throttle all the way to the stop & it just stuck there. It was real hard to get my foot to lift off the pedal.wings.gifmissingteeth.gif

Checked everything Easy E suggested. Good info. However, I found my issue. The mounting bolt for the peddle was moving and causing a different tension on the spring. I retightened/positioned the bolt. The mounting bolt bushing/spacer also needed a good lubing since it had no lube what so ever.
