You are a fortunate one like me. It takes me longer to tie down than to get to the dunes or a riding trail. In an hour I am in the pines on a hot day if I want to be. Some of the towns around here a ATV friendly and you can ride down the street and long as you are registered and have headlights, a tail light and brake light.

The West is still Wild out here!

I am less than a half hour from 2 different actual desert offroad courses. ( Lucerne Valley and Barstow ) 40 minutes from El Mirage and 45 minutes from Glen Helen Raceway. Like mike said it almost takes longer to load everything than the actual drive. Oh and I forgot we have a fire road that we can take to Big Bear to get away from the heat in the summer.
